about a venial offense.

a venial offense. was started in july 2006 by katie sorel, who writes and designs the comic. it is about a girl, trying to find a house that she remembers from her childhood. for some reason, it seems to be either the cause of or simply the locale of all the bad things that happened to her family.

mostly it's an excuse for her to get the hell out of alabama, where she lived (until recently) with her mother, who suffered from, among other things, schizophrenia. UPDATE 01/17/08: it is not about anything. sorry, guys. i'm going to try something new for a while. and by "something new" i mean the storyline thing was absolutely not working out. i abandoned the comic in late 2006, soon after i started it. weak sauce, amirite? this shit is hard, which means i'm going to relax on the whole thing and just post whatever, whenever. if you're into RSS feeds, i've got one. perhaps you'd like to watch the feed? i'd recommend it.

the comic updates fridays wednesdays, and will probably finish sometime in mid- to late 2007.. the cool thing about not having a set storyline? the fun never has to end. substitute your own descriptor for "fun".

about katie.

katie sorel is a college student, majoring in women's and gender studies, which is just a fancy way of saying she has a lot of opinions about patriarchy. she enjoys writing, music (listening to and, to a lesser extent, making it), queer lit, tv, movies, not using the shift key, the rabid ranting of closted homosexuals, the internet, and friends. also: writing about herself in the third person, for which she apologizes profusely. she uses a canon powershot a80 in designing the comic, and frequently doubts her talents.

you can probably find her all over the internet, but especially at her livejournal.

her email address is a.bag.of.things@gmail.com.
